WHO IS MICHELE FONTANA?
It is difficult to pigeonhole a complex and multiface personality like that of Michele Fontana into just one category.
After having brilliantly graduated in piano and organ, he felt the need to further expand and complete his training, also obtaining the Master’s Degree in Piano with full marks and honors and the Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Modena.
His intellectual curiosity, the desire for experimentation and his scientific skills have pushed him, over the years, to take on an even more ambitious challenge: to combine his musical knowledge with his engineering studies by producing very high quality records that reflect every type of sonority as faithfully as possible.
MUSICAL PROJECTS
My latest productions dedicated to Baldassare Galuppi’s keyboard sonatas and Girolamo Frescobaldi’s complete works performed for the first time on the meantone piano have been nominated for the ICMA (International Classical Music Award) among the best records in the world 2022 and 2023.

In this section you will find my videos: two videos in which I perform two Frescobaldi keyboard pieces on the mesotone piano in the splendid setting of “Villa Cornaro” (in the province of Verona) and a documentary in which I explain the reasons that led me to create of this important unique and innovative project.
